And yet the hospice is facing a huge challenge to continue its work due to the huge cuts in funding. One quick thing; The sketches, we hope, are mostly funny. They are also silly and generally ridiculous, because that's what makes us laugh. In addition to Raheny, a new and much-needed hospice in Blanchardstown was finally opened in 2014 to serve the wider area of Dublin North West funded by the HSE and voluntary donations. However, the capital debt for this new hospice is still at €6.8 million and needs to be repaid by 2026. So the money you donate also goes towards maintaining its service and also eliminating this debt so the hospices can focus on the development of more services and on the outreach to many more patients and families.
