Year 1969 - in Turkey. 60s youth were living the most excited days. There was a great effort to make a bridge in Istanbul, on the Bosphorus. Meanwhile, on the eastern border of Turkey, in a Kurdish city between the borders of Iran and Iraq that is left to its destiny, in Hakkari, Zap River was taking lives since there were no passage on it. A group of university students were against the investment to the west part of the country, and to realize their ideals they decided to build a bridge over Zap River as a creative symbol of rebellion. They were against inequalities between the East and the West of the country and started a campaign. A national newspaper supported the project. They opened an aid campaign, and went to Hakkari -the farthest city in the east, on the restless lands, where there is a completely a different life, traditions, and a different language. The construction of a bridge on Zap River was started. The bridge, which has finished in less than three months, was called \"The Revolutionary Youth Bridge\" which would later be called by the names of the leaders of youth movement although they were not among the students who went to build the bridge; their names become legends since they were sentenced to death in 1971.
